Exciting Opportunity for a Culinary Training Specialist

An exceptional opportunity has emerged for a Culinary Training Specialist, focused on delivering high-quality meal services in a residential care environment.

Compensation:
£13 per hour

This is a permanent, full-time position with day shifts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Meal Planning and Preparation:
    You will be tasked with designing and providing daily nutritious meals for residents, ensuring that all ingredients are fresh and cost-effective.
  • Team Management:
    Oversee kitchen operations, including task delegation, staff scheduling, and maintaining an efficient workflow.
  • Supplier Relations:
    Cultivate and maintain relationships with food suppliers to negotiate favorable pricing, ensure timely deliveries, and uphold ingredient quality.
  • Waste Management:
    Implement strategies to control portion sizes and minimize food waste, optimizing resource utilization and maintaining budgetary constraints.
  • Staff Training:
    Conduct regular training sessions for kitchen personnel on culinary techniques, food safety, and hygiene standards.
  • Equipment Maintenance:
    Ensure all kitchen equipment is functioning properly, coordinating repairs or replacements as necessary to avoid disruptions in meal service.
  • Budget Management:
    Develop and manage the kitchen budget, monitor expenses, and make adjustments to meet financial objectives.

Qualifications:
Proven experience in a culinary role, ideally within a healthcare or hospitality context.
Ability to mentor and supervise kitchen staff.
Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and holidays.
Food Hygiene Certification - Level 1, with a commitment to achieving Intermediate Food Hygiene qualifications.
NVQ Level 2/3 in Food Preparation/Catering.
