Manager of Technical Support Services
The Manager of Technical Support Services plays a crucial role in overseeing relationships, processes, and service delivery between ICPs, CPOs, and DNOs to ensure the effective execution of end-user EV rollout initiatives. This position is essential in positioning ESP as a preferred partner for ICPs.
A minimum of HND in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent qualification is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the creation of scope packs for targeted locations, primarily focusing on EV charging LV/HV connections for ICPs to bid on.
- Conduct evaluations of private networks prior to adoption.
- Oversee the route selection process from Point of Connection (POC) to site, identifying the most effective solutions.
- Administer the ESP ICP Procurement System, including the upkeep and enhancement of Ratecard solutions.
- Implement ESP's program support methodology, which encompasses tracking ICP commercial/tendering progress, monitoring ICP delivery status, and resolving issues at problem sites.
- Coordinate new connection designs with partners, land rights, equipment sourcing, specifications, and the ICP supply chain.
- Lead the POC process, ensuring seamless coordination between internal teams and customers for successful outcomes.
- Facilitate the expediting and acceleration of POC and related requests, supported by the technical administration team.
- Ensure accurate reporting and transparency regarding the status of POCs for all stakeholders involved.
- Secure viable POCs for end-users, engaging in negotiation and persuasion with DNOs as necessary.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with DNOs to bolster the ESP proposition.
- Engage with ESP's technical and engineering expertise as required.
- Support the assessment of POC viability by identifying value engineering opportunities.
- Continuously seek out opportunities for improvement.
Person Specification
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in the construction, electrical, or utilities sector.
- Proven experience in managing and coordinating multiple projects.
- Demonstrated commercial acumen, including procurement and contract management.
- Successful experience in dealing with DNOs.
- Knowledge of power distribution (HV & LV), ideally gained from DNO, IDNO, ICP, or M&E backgrounds.
- Ability to creatively solve problems.
- Strong analytical capabilities.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
