Position Overview
We are in search of a diligent and resourceful Electrical Installation Engineer to enhance our talented team of engineers. This role is ideal for a self-driven individual who excels in practical problem-solving and possesses strong communication abilities.
Key Responsibilities
The primary duties of this position include surveying, installing, commissioning, and supporting site-based control systems and equipment for our esteemed clients. While the focus is on electrical tasks, there will be opportunities to engage in PLC programming, with training provided. The role may involve working independently or collaborating with fellow engineers as part of a team. It is essential to ensure that all work is executed to the highest standards and within established deadlines.
Work Environment
This full-time position typically operates within standard hours, but flexibility is required due to the nature of the role, which includes extensive travel to various sites (up to approximately 3 hours away). While occasional overnight stays may be necessary, they are not expected to exceed 20% of the working week. Accommodations will be arranged for commutes exceeding 1.5 hours.
Qualifications
- Electrical qualifications such as C&G, BTEC, NVQ3, ONC, or HNC/HND, along with the 18th edition certification.
- ECS Gold card holder status is mandatory.
- Prior experience in service and support, electrical installation, or maintenance roles is essential.
- Familiarity with electrical design tools like EPlan, AutoCAD, or similar is advantageous.
- Skills in control panel design, manufacturing, or electrical installation are beneficial.
- Experience with equipment installation and commissioning, particularly with PLCs, is required.
Essential Skills
- A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in the field.
- Solid understanding of electrical diagrams related to control panel wiring or electrical installations.
- Level 3 Electrical Installation (2365) certification.
- Level 3 Requirements for Electrical Installations (BS7671:2018) certification.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A valid UK Driving License.
- Eligibility to work in the UK is required.
