We are seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist to lead our clients' procurement operations, ensuring a smooth flow of goods and materials. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in materials management and purchasing within a manufacturing setting, with experience in negotiating lead times with vendors and resolving supplier issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of purchasing functions for goods and raw materials.
- Negotiate lead times with vendors and swiftly resolve supplier issues.
- Expedite orders to maintain production schedules, actively participating in shortage meetings.
- Review material quantities and promptly communicate any issues to management.
- Support business improvement initiatives through Lean and 5S activities.
- Strategically plan and execute material purchase orders to meet customer demand and company objectives.
- Investigate and approve supplier invoice discrepancies.
- Drive supplier delivery performance through KPI tracking and regular reviews.
Requirements:
- CIPS Certification (Or equivalent).
- Strong background in casting and machining, including subcontract machine shop management.
- Demonstrated experience in materials management and purchasing within a manufacturing setting.
- Proficiency in SAP.
- Familiarity with scheduling, MRP, MPS, and consignment stocking.
- Proactive problem-solving skills and initiative.
- Effective communication skills with all organisational levels and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a small team.
