Financial Operations Specialist

Position Overview

The Financial Operations Specialist, reporting directly to the Finance Controller, will be an integral part of the team at Young's Seafood. This role is essential for enhancing and nurturing the operational efficiency of the site through the establishment and upkeep of a solid financial oversight framework. The specialist will be responsible for timely and precise reporting and analysis of operational metrics, including departmental productivity and labor statistics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Finance Controller in fulfilling weekly and monthly reporting obligations, including the preparation and analysis of monthly Continuous Improvement (CI) reports.
  • Collaborate with the Finance Controller to produce and analyze departmental management information to support both site and group management evaluations.
  • Advance the management reporting framework to ensure alignment between departmental goals and financial objectives across all operational levels.
  • Work collaboratively across functions and serve as a key finance representative on project teams, delivering thorough analysis and validating proposals prior to senior management review.
  • Drive continuous enhancements in financial and operational reporting processes, including support for cost-saving initiatives.
  • Prepare high-quality, accurate proposals for capital expenditure (CAPEX) for Board consideration.
  • Lead the analysis and reporting of Research & Development claims pertinent to the site.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Professional qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
  • In-depth knowledge of food production, with a preference for seafood.
  • Familiarity with operational systems and procedures.
  • Proficient in computer applications, particularly Excel, with strong analytical capabilities.
