Occupational Therapist Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Occupational Therapist to join our Community Division in the Wigan borough. As a Specialist Occupational Therapist, you will play a key role in providing rehabilitation services to patients in their own homes and community settings.
Main Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients in community settings to identify their rehabilitation needs and develop effective intervention plans.
- Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals and social care teams to ensure seamless care coordination and delivery.
- Provide evidence-based interventions to patients with a range of conditions, including acquired, congenital, and progressive conditions.
- Supervise and mentor junior staff, including students on placement, to ensure high-quality care and professional development.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of service improvements and quality initiatives within the team.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences to ensure effective communication and collaboration.

Requirements- Degree in Occupational Therapy and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Post-registration experience in rehabilitation and condition management, with a strong understanding of evidence-based practice.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to professional development and lifelong learning.
- Valid driving license and ability to travel independently within the Wigan borough.
