About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Web Accessibility Specialist to join our Accessibility Standards and Strategy Team at DWP Digital. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest levels of digital accessibility for our customers and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead on web accessibility, including auditing and reporting on compliance, delivering training, and providing consultancy for complex queries involving ARIA and JavaScript.
  • Work across DWP Digital, collaborating with colleagues at various role levels to embed accessibility into all products, services, and communications.
  • Train, coach, and mentor digital teams on best practice and approach, leveraging your expertise in web accessibility and assistive technologies.
Requirements
  • Expertise in web accessibility, including HTML, CSS, JS, and ARIA.
  • Deep knowledge of the Public Sector Bodies Accessibility Regulations and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).
  • Strong leadership experience, with the ability to create and engage others in a shared vision, valuing diversity, and promoting inclusion.
  • Expertise in making effective decisions and providing advice based on evidence and a consideration of alternative options.
