Job Overview

The Lead Advanced Clinical Practitioner will take strategic leadership responsibility for ensuring the delivery of person-centred, safe and effective patient care by Advanced Clinical Practitioners (ACPs) in the Emergency Department of North Bristol NHS Trust.

Main Duties
  • Ensure robust supervision arrangements are in place for all ACPs and Trainee ACPs within the Emergency Department.
  • Provide direction and guidance on clinical practice and development for Credentialed ACPs and Trainee ACPs.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the effective delivery of patient care.
  • Lead and support in the recruitment of new ACPs, Trainee ACPs, and Emergency Nurse Practitioners.
  • Supervise and support Trainee ACPs, including arranging clinical training programmes.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide professional leadership for the strategic direction of all ACP and Trainee ACP activity within the Emergency Department.
  • Develop and implement quality governance systems and processes across the organisation and its activities.
  • Collaborate with other clinical teams to improve the quality of healthcare, responding to local and national policies and initiatives as appropriate.
  • Support and participate in shared learning across the Trust and wider organisation.
Person Specification
  • Registered Nurse/Allied Health Professional (Valid with NMC)
  • RCEM Credentialled Advanced Clinical Practitioner for Adult +/- Children
  • Minimum of three years of Post-Credentialed Experience Working in an NHS Emergency Department
