Senior Software Engineer – Search

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our team at Spyrosoft. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be working with our media client to improve and modernise our Search platform.

About the Role

  • Design and develop search algorithms and ranking functions to improve search results.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate search functionality into our discovery engine.
  • Develop and implement machine learning models to enhance search capabilities.
  • Work with Apache Solr to serve up search results based on keywords and expand functionality to understand context around content.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation for search-related projects.

Requirements

  • Strong search, text mining, NLU, and recommendation system skills.
  • Experience with AWS services such as OpenSearch, Lambda, and SageMaker.
  • Practical experience with machine learning techniques to improve search capabilities.
  • Knowledge of IR metrics, such as nDCG, ERR, and IR evaluation protocols.
  • Strong willingness to learn and be a keen team player.
  • Professional experience with Agile development processes.
