AB Arya Partners operates as a distinct business unit within AllianceBernstein L.P. (AB). AllianceBernstein consists of five unique business units, with Arya focusing on public-market alternatives, particularly in fundamental long/short equity investing. This unit encompasses a global multi-manager hedge fund and various sector- and strategy-specific long-short equity funds.
Position Overview:
AB Arya Partners is actively seeking a Portfolio Manager. In this role, you will oversee a portfolio comprising long and short positions in both Developed and Emerging markets, focusing on equity and related securities primarily within the fund established by AB under the Arya business unit, as well as other funds as designated by AB.
This position will report directly to the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) of Arya Partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough and in-depth fundamental research on a wide range of investment opportunities.
- Develop and manage a portfolio of long/short equity and related instruments, emphasizing the generation of significant idiosyncratic returns.
- Provide timely updates to the CIO and Chief Risk Officer (CRO) regarding individual investments, portfolio construction, and associated risks.
- Regularly update individual models and research notes in accordance with investment and compliance process requirements.
- Collaborate effectively with other AB team members on research initiatives, process enhancements, and firmwide projects.
- Communicate trading decisions to the Portfolio Management Group and oversee their execution.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred, with a strong academic background.
- Proven experience in equity long/short strategies across various sectors, including Consumer, Industrials, Energy, Healthcare, TMT, Financials, or region-specific markets (e.g., US, Europe, APAC).
- A strong intellectual curiosity and a commitment to achieving excellence.
- A collaborative team player who thrives in a rigorous and collegial environment conducive to professional development.
