The actuarial team will assess business performance, providing management with a clear, risk-informed perspective to guide strategic decisions and risk mitigation efforts.

This department encompasses various actuarial functions, including pricing strategies, non-catastrophe parameterization, and business planning.

Collaboration with other departments will be essential for the actuarial support of data analytics, capital management, exposure management, and reinsurance strategies.

The LM Re actuarial team comprises 19 professionals located across multiple regions, contributing to a larger team of 60 within LSM.

Responsibilities:

- Ensure project delivery aligns with both internal and external compliance standards.

- Lead the development and implementation of strategic initiatives that leverage data and analytics to enhance underwriting decision-making.

- Oversee the creation of advanced pricing tools, focusing on delivering next-generation pricing models on cutting-edge platforms to elevate pricing sophistication and improve data quality, functionality, user experience, and efficiency in model development and maintenance.

- Drive strategic projects across LMRe, collaborating with teams to develop and deploy analytical models that foster competitive advantages.

- Enhance LMRe's Portfolio Management approach, working alongside Underwriting Portfolio Managers, Data & Analytics, and Operations to ensure analytical tools facilitate improved decision-making.

- Promote self-service analytics by delivering insightful and timely Management Information on portfolios, lines of business, and key risks to support data-driven decisions.

- Maintain awareness of the external and competitive landscape to strengthen LM Re's market position and reputation.

- Adhere to all relevant regulatory requirements and demonstrate behaviors aligned with the Conduct Risk Policy, reflecting LSM's commitment to Liberty Values.

Qualifications:

- Relevant experience in general insurance, reinsurance, or consultancy.

- Strong actuarial skills combined with business acumen derived from technical experience.

- A numerate/scientific degree with a minimum of 1 or equivalent, alongside an A/A* in A-Level Maths or equivalent.

- Proficient IT skills with practical experience in Excel, SQL, Python, R, PowerPivot, PowerBI, and DAX.

- Ability to effectively utilize relevant methods, data, and tools to solve technical challenges, convey complex concepts to varied audiences, draw meaningful conclusions, and make informed recommendations.

- A strong desire for continuous learning and professional development across various projects and workstreams.

- Experience in non-life commercial (re)insurance pricing or predictive modeling and analytics is advantageous but not mandatory.
