Job Title: Contracts Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to lead our contract administration and project management activities. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of Health and Safety regulations and industry best practices, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and oversee contract administration and project management activities across multiple projects
  2. Ensure all sites maintain the highest possible Health and Safety standards, adhering to relevant legislation, regulations, and company policies
  3. Act as the primary client contact, representing the company consistently and positively while managing stakeholder relationships
  4. Develop and implement project strategies with a focus on commercial proposition, programme activities, and stakeholder satisfaction
  5. Conduct regular site visits to support the site team, chair meetings, and monitor progress
  6. Oversee project planning, ensuring detailed construction programmes are agreed upon and understood by all stakeholders
  7. Manage projects with a total value of £5-8m per financial year, ensuring efficient resource allocation and budget control
  8. Ensure compliance with contract forms, including the JCT suite, and manage all necessary statutory and regulatory consents
  9. Lead design review meetings with internal teams, suppliers, and clients, driving continuous project improvement
  10. Ensure the quality control process is robust, with works meeting contract specifications at all times
  11. Manage internal project teams, including design, contract administration, finance, and site staff, ensuring smooth project delivery
  12. Monitor and report on project costs, risks, and procurement schedules, ensuring project milestones are met and client invoicing is up-to-date
  13. Ensure all projects are delivered snag-free and on time, with practical completion certificates and final accounts issued promptly
  14. Lead the post-project close-out process, ensuring feedback is provided to internal teams and maintaining strong client relationships

Requirements:

  1. Proven experience in managing contract administration and project delivery within the commercial fit-out or construction industry
  2. Strong understanding of Health and Safety regulations and industry best practices
  3. Experience with managing multiple projects and budgets, with a track record of successful project outcomes
  4. Proficiency in managing contracts, particularly with JCT forms
  5. Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide teams
  6. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a keen attention to detail
  7. Ability to communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and team members, with strong written and verbal skills
  8. Ability to remain adaptable and responsive to project demands and changes
  9. Key certifications such as SMSTS, First Aid, CSCS, Fire Marshal, and Asbestos Awareness are required
