Position Overview
The Histopathology Department operates within a dedicated facility, designed to support a comprehensive range of diagnostic services.
This unit includes specialized laboratories for histopathology, cytopathology, and immunohistology, alongside administrative offices, consultant workspaces, and a communal area for staff.
Our mortuary, located conveniently within the hospital premises, has been significantly upgraded to enhance storage capabilities, now accommodating a larger number of standard and specialized fridges, as well as freezer units, complemented by a modernized post-mortem area.
Each consultant is equipped with a private office featuring state-of-the-art microscopes, video recording systems, and computer access, ensuring a conducive working environment.
The main laboratory is also equipped with a multi-head teaching microscope, facilitating collaborative learning and consultation.
We utilize advanced immunohistochemical staining techniques, supported by high-capacity analyzers capable of processing numerous slides daily. These systems also enable in situ hybridization for specific applications, while immunofluorescence is available for skin biopsy assessments upon request. Molecular studies on tumor samples are conducted in collaboration with external facilities.
The laboratory's information management system is currently transitioning to a more integrated platform, enhancing operational efficiency.
