Job Title: Medical Rehabilitation Consultant

About the Role:

Zurich 56 Company Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Medical Rehabilitation Consultant to join our innovative Medical Rehabilitation Team. As a Medical Rehabilitation Consultant, you will play a crucial role in preventing absence through promotion of wellbeing services and health awareness, signposting to aid recovery and supporting members who are absent and employers in returning to and sustaining work after illness absence.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Rehabilitation Management: Assist in the rehabilitation management of income protection claims made through group risk products and provide propositional support as well as training and development for the team of claims case managers.
  2. Portfolio Management: Manage a minimum portfolio of 60 rehabilitation referrals over a 12-month period.
  3. Collaboration and Communication: Work with the Zurich Corporate Risk (ZCR) Claims Case Manager, employers and employees and their medical advisors to draw up rehabilitation plans and graded return to work plans and support these through to successful outcomes and customer satisfaction.
  4. Medical Expertise: Fully demonstrate medical skills, knowledge, best practice guidelines and research-based evidence in all rehabilitation activities.
  5. Treatment Provision: When indicated, enable, support, and evaluate appropriate effective treatment provision through the Zurich provider network.
  6. Knowledge Transfer: Actively encourage knowledge transfer into Zurich claims and rehabilitation service departments to progress and update all colleagues' levels of medical competence and confidence.

Requirements:

  1. Medical Background: Broad and sound medical knowledge and post-registration experience particularly in relation to psychiatric illness, Musculo-skeletal, cancer and other conditions.
  2. Industry Knowledge: Good understanding of the private medical sector and the services available.
  3. Business Acumen: Ability to merge the care needs of the individual with the financial needs of Zurich Insurance Company.
  4. Relationship Building: Ability to form working relationships quickly and professionally and to use these relationships to positively impact upon the claims department's function and our business retention and growth.
