London, Greater London, United Kingdom Vitae Financial Recruitment Full time

Vitae Financial Recruitment is proud to be exclusively partnering with a high-growth, private equity-backed group, looking to hire a credible and impressive Head of Finance to be a critical member of its leadership team, reporting to the Chief Executive Officer. Candidates must have had previous responsibility for European regions (ideally the Nordics) and be familiar with local compliance.

In this rare opportunity, you'll be responsible for setting up and overseeing the finance function to support effective business operations that will be active across 3 countries (UK and Nordics). Candidates should, therefore, have experience of operating in a European setting. You'll play a pivotal role in establishing financial infrastructure, processes, and governance that will drive the success and profitability of the business.

Initially, this is a very hands-on role, being the first and sole member of the Finance team. You will, however, have the opportunity to build out the finance function in future and have initial support from a third-party accounting resource, before identifying what should be brought in-house.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Developing and Implementing Financial Systems: Develop and implement financial systems, policies, and procedures to support the operation, including setting up entities, banking, financial reporting, controls, and systems.
  2. Financial Planning and Analysis: Lead financial planning and analysis to guide strategic decision making.
  3. Capital Allocation and Fund Movement: Manage capital allocation and ensure efficient movement of funds.
  4. Compliance and Financial Reporting: Ensure compliance with local regulations and financial reporting requirements in each of the 3 countries.
  5. Leadership and Strategic Support: Work closely with the CEO and other Departments to support overall business strategy, providing leadership and acting as a key advisor.
  6. Financial Planning for Expansion: Drive financial planning to support the expansion into new locations and markets.
  7. Building a High-Performing Finance Function: Build and lead a high-performing finance function.
Key Skills and Experience:
  1. Professional Qualifications: Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent.
  2. Senior Finance Experience: Proven experience in a senior finance role, within hospitality/multi-site/retail/leisure.
  3. Financial Infrastructure and Governance: Strong knowledge of financial infrastructure, processes, and governance.
  4. Process Setup and System Implementation: Experience of setting up new processes and systems.
  5. Local Financial Regulations: Previous experience understanding local financial regulations in other European territories (ideally Nordics).
  6. Entrepreneurial Mindset: Highly entrepreneurial with a self-starter attitude and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  7. Solution-Oriented: Solution-orientated with strong ability to navigate challenges and deliver results.
  8. Growth Mindset: Growth mind-set.

This client can offer the opportunity to make a real impact and play a key role in the establishment and growth of a new and exciting business. You'll work in London 2 - 3 days per week and have the genuine chance to set the tone as far as culture and attitude of the department and wider organisation.
