Capital Projects Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Capital Projects Manager to join our Estates Team at the Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the delivery of capital projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage capital projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered within the agreed budget and timeframe.
  • Work closely with the Property Development Manager to develop project briefs, tender contracts, and manage external contractors.
  • Coordinate with directors and stakeholders to ensure the company's fit-out requirements are integrated into new and existing buildings in a cost-effective manner.
  • Monitor project progress, address issues, and ensure timely completion.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with architects, contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders.
  • Manage capital development and redevelopment projects, including feasibility studies, design, and procurement.
  • Prepare and advise on initial spatial design briefs, coordinate room data information, and maintain project records.
  • Ensure financial control of each project, produce regular reports, and maintain records of project progress.
Requirements:
  • Degree-level education in a related construction industry discipline.
  • 3-5 years of post-qualified experience in project management, contract administration, or a related field.
  • Experience in CAD drawing, construction forms of contract, and contract administration.
  • Effective communication, negotiation, and conflict management skills.
  • Ability to work within agreed parameters, with minimal supervision, and prioritize multiple strands of work.
  • Self-motivated, flexible, enthusiastic, and committed to delivering high-quality results.
