Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Fabricator/Welder to join our team at Randstad Inhouse Services. As a Fabricator/Welder, you will be responsible for performing complex fabrication and welding tasks, working with a team of semi-skilled and skilled Fabricator/Welder employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of welding processes, including MMA/MIG and gas welding, brazing, and soldering on various types of materials.
  • Perform welding operations on silencers, bases, and containers without the aid of detailed prints, instructions, or fixtures.
  • Fabricate, modify, and/or rework various types of special tankers, skid bases, silencers, and containers used in the production of generator sets and associated hardware.
  • Interpret prints, plan methods, and sequence of work.
  • Comply with safety and quality standards.
  • Comply with 5S program and other business improvement initiatives.
  • Display behavior and conduct fitting with our Values in Action.
  • Train other employees as required.
Requirements
  • Formal apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in fabrication/welding discipline.
  • The ability to follow and comprehend verbal, specific, and detailed procedures and work instructions as well as difficult arithmetic calculations.
  • The ability to read and interpret schematic drawings and sequences of assembly prints.
  • Ability to work reasonable amounts of overtime and various shift patterns.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Previous experience working in a lean environment.
  • Ability to use slinging equipment and cranes to transport work and to use a measuring tape and/or square to check work.
  • Ability to work from heights.
  • Strong customer focus.
  • Attention to detail to meet quality standards.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize sequence of work.

Working Hours and Salary
  • Day Shift: £15.06 per hour.
  • Night Shift: £20.08 per hour.
  • Overtime: £22.59 per hour (first ten hours).
  • Overtime: £30.12 per hour (after ten hours overtime).
  • 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Thursday.
