Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Injection Moulding Technician to join our team at Meridian Business Support. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of our injection moulding equipment.

Main Responsibilities
  • Tooling and Moulding Development: Assist the moulding team in the development of new tooling and moulding programmes, ensuring that all necessary steps are taken to achieve high-quality results.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Safely and efficiently perform tool changes, using pre-set up programmes to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
  • Machinery Setup and Operation: Ensure that all ancillary machinery is set up correctly and functioning properly, including material handling and colour changes.
  • Quality Control: Verify that first-off products meet relevant quality standards, and take corrective action as necessary.
  • Team Collaboration: Utilize staff to assist with tool changes, material changes, and general operation of the department, promoting a culture of teamwork and collaboration.
  • Process Improvement: Actively participate in process improvement activities, identifying areas for enhancement and implementing changes to improve efficiency and productivity.
Development Opportunities
  • Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Develop an understanding of all aspects of the process, tooling, and materials, including the ability to start-up and shut-down the entire department, including moulding machines and ancillary equipment.
  • Process Optimization: Accurately record and report shift production metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to optimize production processes.
  • Troubleshooting and Fault Correction: Troubleshoot and correct faults through machine settings, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum productivity.
  • Programming and Setup: Set up and programme the roots and sprue pickers, ensuring accurate and efficient operation.
