Job Overview

JSM Group Services Ltd. is seeking a skilled Civils Estimator to join our team. As a key member of our estimating department, you will be responsible for producing detailed pricing for HV & EHV civil & cable installations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review tender documents and develop bid strategies with colleagues.
  • Identify and anticipate potential risks associated with projects.
  • Liaise with street works departments to obtain necessary information and restrictions.
  • Prepare bespoke cost models from first principles for estimating, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Liaise with project and delivery managers to determine project outputs, programmes, and resource requirements.
  • Tender submissions, including preparing, negotiating, and analyzing costs, as well as evaluating subcontract responses.
  • Final bid review and sign-off with senior managers prior to submission.
  • Pre- and post-tender commercial activities, including attending post-tender reviews and BAFO meetings.
  • Tender handover to delivery teams and QS as part of project pre-start meetings.
Requirements
  • Degree or HNC in estimating or equivalent, or minimum 5 years' experience in a similar position.
  • Competent in MS Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, and Office Outlook.
  • Previous experience in the utilities sector.
  • Good knowledge of civil engineering, particularly utility contracting.
