Library Support Specialist

An exciting opportunity has emerged for two part-time Library Support Specialists to join the Reader Services Team at the Bodleian Social Science Library. In this role, you will undertake a variety of essential front-line responsibilities in one of the busiest lending and research libraries associated with a prestigious university.
Key Responsibilities
Your primary duties will include:
• Assisting library patrons at the help desk with their inquiries and managing book loans.
• Reviewing course reading lists and re-shelving returned materials.
• Contributing to projects aimed at enhancing the accessibility and usability of the library's extensive collections.
Work Schedule
These are permanent, part-time positions during term time. The expected working patterns for each role are as follows:
Position 1: 16 hours per week, with a combination of Sundays and Mondays.
Position 2: 12 hours per week, primarily on Fridays and Saturdays.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. You should be reliable, punctual, and possess proficient IT and communication skills. The ability to collaborate effectively within a team is essential. Previous experience in a library or a similar customer service environment is advantageous.
