About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Test Engineer to join our Digital Services team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our department by designing and automating software tests for our web and API applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and automate software tests for web and API applications using modern testing frameworks such as Playwright and TypeScript.
  • Collaborate with the team to drive quality throughout development and ensure that our automated testing approach is effective and efficient.
  • Take ownership of our test strategy, emphasizing automation and continuous improvement.
  • Coach and mentor Test Engineers to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
Requirements
  • Proven experience designing and automating software tests, ideally in web and API applications.
  • Strong proficiency in Java/Selenium or similar modern testing frameworks.
  • Experience in automating Playwright & TypeScript would be advantageous.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based testing platforms (e.g., Browserstack Automate).
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Experience of Non Functional testing practices including Security, Performance and Accessibility Testing.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary of £38,844, plus an additional DDaT allowance of £4,350 - £11,000. You will also be enrolled into the Civil Service Pension Scheme with a contribution rate averaging 28%. We pride ourselves on offering a quality work-life balance and a comprehensive benefits package that includes 30 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays and 1 privilege day.
