As the leading Ophthalmic unit in the South East outside of London, we operate across multiple hospital locations and are committed to enhancing our services.

This role is essential in supporting our dynamic technician and photography teams in outpatient settings and the Day Surgery unit.

Our service operates over a six-day week, necessitating some weekend shifts.

Key Responsibilities

The primary duties of this position include assisting the technician, photography, and nursing teams with the OCT clinic, conducting Visual Fields assessments, and learning Biometry techniques for patients undergoing cataract procedures. The technician will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, where precision and attention to detail are crucial for maintaining our high standards.

Proficiency in IT is required to manage equipment effectively, alongside strong communication skills and the ability to prioritize tasks while working independently or as part of a team.

Previous experience in Ophthalmic clinics is advantageous for candidates looking to enhance their skills and responsibilities.

Detailed Job Description and Responsibilities

Upon successful completion of pre-employment checks, candidates will be contacted to arrange their start date in accordance with our Corporate Induction schedule.

Following induction, participation in a comprehensive 2-week training program is expected, which includes clinical shifts, classroom sessions, and e-learning opportunities across our Trust sites.
