Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a Primary school near Haslemere. The successful candidate will provide support to children aged 4-11 with mild to severe learning difficulties, including Autism and Speech, Language & Communication needs.

Job Summary:

The SEN Teaching Assistant will work closely with the class teacher to provide a supportive learning environment for students. This will involve assisting with lesson planning, delivering tailored support to individual students, and contributing to the development of a positive and inclusive classroom culture.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the class teacher in providing a supportive learning environment for students with special educational needs
  • Deliver tailored support to individual students, including 1:1 and small group work
  • Contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive classroom culture
  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher and other support staff to ensure the needs of all students are met
  • Provide behaviour and pastoral support to students as needed
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • A caring and compassionate approach to supporting students with special educational needs
  • Ability to build robust and effective relationships with students, staff, and parents
  • Practical approach to meeting the individual needs of students
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
What We Offer:

We offer a competitive salary of £85-£90 per day, paid term-time only. You will also receive excellent on-site training, support, and CPD to ensure the safeguarding of all students. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience and develop your skills in a supportive and inclusive environment.
