Role Overview

As an Early Years Leader, you will be responsible for the implementation of the Early Years program at our camps, creating a vibrant, enjoyable, and supportive atmosphere. You will actively engage with children aged 4 and 5, delivering structured activities in sports, arts, and crafts that align with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) standards, emphasizing participation and quality.

Under the guidance of the Camp Manager, you will serve as the primary contact for the young campers, ensuring their welfare and providing exceptional care. You will collaborate with the Camp Manager to meet all regulatory requirements and act as the main liaison for parents of our young participants.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of an engaging and enjoyable program for the young campers, ensuring compliance with EYFS standards.
  • Design and implement quality sports, arts, and games for children aged four and five, focusing on enjoyment and developmental growth.
  • Supervise and mentor a small team of Early Years staff.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards, serving as the registered individual during inspections.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for parents and guardians, providing updates and addressing any concerns.
  • Manage administrative tasks related to the young campers, including registration and attendance tracking.
  • Work collaboratively with the Camp Manager to promote the welfare of all children in your care.
  • Engage with children outside of scheduled activities to foster a supportive environment.
  • Ensure that childcare services meet the diverse needs of children from various backgrounds and developmental stages.
  • Embody the Ultimate Activity ethos of 'Inspiring Children Every Day' and maintain professionalism throughout your role.
  • Exhibit high levels of energy, enthusiasm, and professionalism, serving as a positive role model for children.
  • Adhere to all camp policies and procedures, including health and safety and safeguarding protocols.
  • Perform additional duties as required, such as equipment maintenance and cleaning.

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years/Childcare or Primary Education, with substantial experience working with young children.
  • Proven experience in delivering activities tailored to children's age and abilities.
  • Passionate and energetic about fostering child development through play and structured activities.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with confidence in leading groups of children.
  • Solid understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage and its application in a camp environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, particularly in customer service and parent interactions.
  • Proactive team player, adaptable to the dynamic nature of camp settings.
  • Aspiring childcare professional seeking a rewarding and enjoyable role during holiday periods.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience in a supervisory or management role.
  • Experience managing a group of children independently.
  • Current Paediatric First Aid qualification (12-hour or 6-hour).
