About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safeguarding Manager to join our team at The Diana Award. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of children and young people.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safeguarding Culture
    • Develop and implement a safeguarding culture that prioritizes the safety and well-being of children and young people.
    • Lead the development and implementation of The Diana Award's Safeguarding Strategy and Framework.
    • Oversee the organization's external safeguarding committee and ensure best practice across the organization.
  • Case Management
    • Manage and action safeguarding concerns in line with our Safeguarding Policy.
    • Provide specialist advice and support to staff and volunteers on safeguarding matters.
  • Safeguarding by Design
    • Review and update safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure they are effective and up-to-date.
    • Work with teams to ensure a 'safeguarding by design' approach to all program design and implementation.
    • Develop and deliver training programs to equip staff and volunteers with effective safeguarding tools.
  • Risk Management & Compliance
    • Ensure accurate and confidential record-keeping.
    • Coordinate and lead on safeguarding reporting, both internally and externally.
Requirements
  • Experience of working in a setting with children and young people, implementing safeguarding practices.
  • Expert knowledge of the UK safeguarding regulatory framework concerning children and young people.
  • Ability to assess complex scenarios and provide high-quality advice.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage competing priorities.
