Freight Coordinator

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Shipping Assistant/Administrator to join our team at a medium-sized Freight Forwarder.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of freight forwarding principles and have a minimum of 6 months of experience in the industry. They will be responsible for supporting the coordination and operations teams with a range of administration tasks, including answering incoming calls, keeping accurate records, and preparing and processing import and export documentation.
The successful candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be numerate and literate, and have a keen eye for detail. They will also be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and be proactive in taking on responsibility.
The role will involve learning and assisting in all aspects of shipping fine art and antiques, arranging collections and deliveries from one destination to another, both domestic and international. The ideal candidate will be able to communicate effectively with clients, guide them through the process of art shipping, and provide certificates of shipment.
The successful candidate will be a team player, able to work collaboratively with colleagues and take ownership of assigned tasks. They will also be able to manage multiple jobs simultaneously, including the timely booking of internal and external services.
Car driver preferred due to location. Monday to Friday 9am-5.30pm. Salary depends on experience.
