Job Overview

The Radiologic Technologist is a qualified healthcare professional who, under the supervision of an authorized user, is dedicated to utilizing the art and expertise of diagnostic imaging through the safe and proficient application of ionizing radiation in the field of diagnostic radiology.

Key Responsibilities:


• Collects and documents the patient's clinical history and relevant laboratory results, ensuring this information is accessible for the licensed practitioner.


• Positions and secures the patient to optimally display the anatomical area of interest, taking into account the patient's comfort and capabilities.


• Implements radiation safety principles to reduce exposure for the patient, themselves, and others.


• Conducts radiographic procedures by selecting and operating imaging devices and associated accessories to effectively carry out the tasks.


• Confirms informed consent and completes all necessary pre and post-procedure documentation.


• Aids the licensed practitioner during fluoroscopic and specialized radiographic procedures, applying appropriate aseptic techniques as required.

Educational Requirements:

Associate's degree from an ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) accredited institution (preferred)

Required Certifications & Licenses:

Certification and Registration with ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) (mandatory) State Licensure (preferred, unless mandated by the state of practice) BLS Basic Life Support – American Heart Association (required prior to direct patient care)

Experience Requirements:

Minimum of 1 year experience in radiation safety and patient care (preferred) Familiarity with Radiology Information Systems (preferred)

Skills & Competencies:

Patient-centered approach Monitoring patient conditions throughout examinations Documenting patient medical histories Collaborating within an interdisciplinary team Strong attention to detail Critical thinking abilities
