Job Summary:

Erewash Borough Council is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Environmental Health Officer to join our Food Health and Safety team. As an Environmental Health Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the health and safety of our community by undertaking proactive and reactive inspections for food hygiene and health & safety in a wide variety of premises.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake proactive and reactive inspections for food hygiene and health & safety in a wide variety of premises.
  • Work with local businesses to maintain and improve standards.
  • Undertake infectious disease and food poisoning investigations.
  • Undertake animal licensing visits (subject to qualification).
  • Investigate complaints, requests for service and RIDDOR reported incidents.

Requirements:

  • Enthusiastic professional qualified to Diploma or Degree level in Environmental Health and registered with the Environmental Health Registration Board (or equivalent).
  • Ability to deal effectively with difficult situations and adopt a risk-based approach to achieve positive outcomes.
