About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Fire Engineer to join our Building Design Practice. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering fire engineering design solutions to clients across various sectors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement fire strategies for residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
  • Manage multiple engineering projects from inception to delivery, ensuring compliance with fire safety standards and codes.
  • Collaborate with senior team members to develop the team's technical capability and deliver project work.
  • Stay up-to-date with evolving regulations and legislation, and apply this knowledge to project work.
  • Support junior team members in their professional development and provide guidance on fire engineering principles.
  • Assess fire-related risks in projects and work collaboratively to mitigate them.
  • Review and comment on the quality of fire safety-related installations.
  • Undertake tenders for new work and develop client relationships to identify potential opportunities.
  • Prepare reports, participate in design team meetings, and liaise with client representatives as required.
Requirements
  • Engineering degree in fire engineering or a related field, or a postgraduate qualification in fire engineering.
  • Strong experience in fire engineering roles, including roles outside of consultancy.
  • Experience working with multiple fire standards, including BS9999, NFPA 130, BS9992, and EN45545.
  • Demonstrate a strong record of successfully delivering fire strategies.
  • Fire modeling experience is beneficial.
  • Working towards chartered fire engineer status.
  • A flexible approach to the working environment and willingness to travel.
  • Good commercial awareness and customer focus.
  • Ability to collate information and have a clear and structured approach to report writing.
