Global Edge Group is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Sustainability Specialist to join our team. As an Environmental Sustainability Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring environmental compliance and sustainability for energy projects, managing permits, mitigating risks, and adhering to regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct environmental impact assessments (EIAs) for Project activities, identifying potential environmental impacts and proposing mitigation strategies.
- Manage the permitting process, securing all necessary environmental permits and approvals from relevant authorities. Ensure ongoing compliance with environmental regulations throughout the project.
- Develop project environmental plans and deliverables such as Environmental Management Plan (EMP), Waste Management Plan (WMP) Development and Implementation.
- Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders on environmental issues related to the project, including regulators, clients, contractors, and NGOs.
- Develop and implement incident response plans for environmental incidents and ensure timely reporting to regulatory authorities.
- Prepare reporting templates and collate reports with information provided by worksites.
- Develop and provide environmental training.
- Coach and support HSE Team members on environmental requirements.
- Develop and implement environmental compliance audit and monitoring processes.
- Assist in implementing and maintaining the Environmental Management System (EMS) across the organization, working towards ISO14001 compliance.
- Comply and carry out all other tasks as per instructed by the Project HSE Manager.
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Marine Science, or related field with a preference for a master's degree.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in environmental management, preferably in the oil and gas or renewable energy sector.
- ISO 14001:2015 internal/external auditor certification is preferred.
- Associate member/Member of marine/engineering/environmental professional institute is preferred.
