Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Connections Technician to join our team. As a Connections Technician, you will be responsible for delivering connections services through both the quotation and delivery stages of our customers' journey. You will manage the connections project, meeting the customer's requirements while delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the single point of contact for customers requesting new electrical connections or alterations to their supply.
  • Provide excellent customer service, facilitating site meetings and keeping customers updated throughout their journey.
  • Deliver connection quotations and works to time, cost, and quality standards.
  • Understand customer requirements and produce scheme designs using relevant business tools, in compliance with our design rules, policies, and technical standards.
  • Plan and schedule labor, materials, and liaise with contractors to meet customer delivery dates and requirements.
  • Ensure the highest level of safety standards are achieved throughout the design and delivery of works, considering all stakeholders.
  • Ensure works have been completed to the customer's satisfaction and rectify any identified issues.
  • Manage workload to meet our regulatory targets.
Requirements
  • Customer Service - Demonstrate great customer service skills and ability to take ownership of customer service provision.
  • Effective Communicator - Adapt communication style to audience, show empathy, and build rapport with customers and stakeholders.
  • Excellent Project Management Skills - Plan, organize, and manage competing priorities, using initiative and technical knowledge to offer solutions.
  • Team Player - Work well in partnership with internal and external stakeholders to deliver results and maintain quality customer service.
  • Problem Solving - Work through complex situations, identifying solutions to ensure jobs are delivered on time, to cost, and meeting customer needs.
  • People Management Skills - Liaise effectively, influence, and build strong working relationships with contractors, stakeholders, and customers.
  • GCSE grade C/5 or above in Maths and English.
  • IT skills, including Microsoft applications (Word & Excel).
  • Full UK driving license.
Desirable Attributes/Experience
  • ONC in Electrical Engineering or working towards this qualification.
  • ILM Level 3 or relevant cross-utility experience.
  • Basic understanding of the power distribution network, including New Connections and Connections regulatory and legislative framework.
  • Proven experience of project or financial management for delivering work within time and budget.
  • Understanding of Health, Safety & Environmental management IOSH.
