As a Transmission Systems Designer at Leonardo, you will play a pivotal role in the design process of our helicopter transmissions. This position is based in Yeovil, with hybrid work options available.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create detailed transmission system layouts, 3D models, and 2D drawings
  • Support product improvements and modifications, ensuring compliance with industry standards
  • Manage transmission configuration and build standards, optimizing performance and efficiency
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for stakeholders

Design Expertise:

  • Develop transmission system designs, considering factors such as weight, size, and functionality
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate transmission systems with other aircraft components
  • Conduct Finite Element Analysis to ensure structural integrity and performance
  • Deliver high-quality designs, meeting or exceeding customer expectations

Requirements:

  • Degree in mechanical design or a related field
  • Proven knowledge of transmission components and systems
  • Experience in mechanical design environments, with a focus on transmission design
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex design challenges

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a regulated environment, with knowledge of industry standards and compliance
  • Expertise in Finite Element Analysis software, with the ability to apply it to transmission design
