University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse to join our Respiratory team as a Junior Sister/Charge Nurse. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing effective, safe, evidence-based patient care in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Code of Conduct.
Key Responsibilities- Practice within the NMC code of conduct and have responsibility for promoting and monitoring this practice on the ward.
- Take the lead role in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating individualised evidence-based patient care including the monitoring of care standards through audit and other activities.
- Participate in the development and implementation of an explicit ward philosophy of care.
- Effectively process admissions & transfers and plan discharges in accordance with UHSussex policy and standards, including liaison with partner agencies.
- Actively participate and monitor the promotion of education for patients, their relatives and colleagues and ensure these needs are met within available resources.
- Ensure provision of all drugs as prescribed in accordance with UHSussex Policy, including parenteral administration.
- Actively engage with Patient First Improvement Program.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in respiratory care and be able to demonstrate excellent leadership and communication skills. They will be able to work effectively as part of a team and have a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.
