Safety Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety Technician to join our team at Amazon UK Services Ltd. as a key member of our Workplace Health and Safety team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, coordinating, and driving improvements in safety across our operations, engaging with operational and support function stakeholders to ensure a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with Risk Assessments: Collaborate with teams to conduct risk assessments, identify potential hazards, and implement control measures to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Advise on Safety Procedures: Provide guidance to associates and managers on company safety procedures, ensuring compliance with UK Health and Safety Legislation and regulations.
- Monitor Compliance: Regularly inspect the workplace to ensure adherence to safety protocols, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Investigate Incidents: Conduct thorough investigations into incidents, near misses, and accidents, developing action plans to prevent recurrence and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Update Records: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of incidents, near misses, and accidents, providing insights for continuous improvement.
- Produce Safety Reports: Compile and submit weekly safety reports, highlighting key findings and recommendations for improvement.
- Attend Health and Safety Meetings: Participate in regular health and safety meetings, contributing to the development and implementation of safety strategies.
- Undertake Projects: Conduct projects to identify hazards and assess risks, developing action plans to mitigate potential threats and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Maintain Confidentiality: Handle sensitive information related to safety investigations, maintaining confidentiality and discretion at all times.
- Monitor Dock and Yard Safety: Ensure compliance with safety procedures in dock and yard areas, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Monitor Smart Handling Safety: Verify adherence to safety protocols in Smart Handling areas, implementing corrective actions to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Deliver EHS Training: Provide training sessions on EHS procedures, ensuring associates and managers are equipped to work safely and effectively.

Requirements- Full UK Driving Licence
- NVQ Level 3 in Occupational Safety or NEBOSH Certificate
- Experience with Metrics Reporting and Data Analysis
- Knowledge of UK Health and Safety Legislation and Regulations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience in Logistics, Operations, or Customer-Facing Environments
- Demonstrable Ability to Learn Quickly and Adapt to New Processes
