About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our team at Adria Solutions Ltd. As a Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in expanding our client's data capabilities and supporting the launch of our new data platform and mobile app.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support and Maintain the Central Data Platform: Ensure the availability and performance of our data platform to meet business needs.
  • Build Data Pipelines: Connect APIs, files, databases, and data streams to our client's Data Platforms.
  • Shape Data: Transform data from various sources into a transactional ODS for detailed reporting and a Kimball-modelled Data Warehouse for analytics and dashboards.
  • Define and Embed Data Quality Measures: Ensure data integrity, monitoring, and alerting are integrated into all solutions.
  • Create and Manage Build and Deployment Pipelines: Develop and maintain pipelines for efficient deployment of data solutions.
  • Enhance and Support the Data Lake: Collaborate with analysts and data scientists to translate requirements into solutions and ensure successful business outcomes.
  • Contribute to the Overall Design of the Data Platform: Work with the team to design and implement a robust data platform.
  • Develop Visualisations in Power BI: Create interactive and informative visualisations to support business decision-making.
  • Work in an Agile Kanban Workflow: Safely code, review, test, and deploy solutions using source control.
Requirements
  • Implement Data Solutions in an AWS Environment: Utilize native AWS technologies and RDS (SQL Server) toolsets to design and implement data solutions.
  • Experience with Dimensionally Modelled Databases: Apply knowledge of dimensionally modelled databases for analytics use cases.
  • Hands-on Experience with AWS Technologies: Leverage experience with Lambda, SQS, Event Bridge, S3 & RDS.
  • Experience with Python for Scripting and Automating Data Tasks: Utilize Python for automating data tasks and workflows.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD Approaches for Data Platforms: Apply knowledge of CI/CD approaches using Bitbucket and Bitbucket Pipelines.
  • Knowledge of AWS Data Lake Approaches: Utilize knowledge of AWS data lake approaches using Athena & Apache Iceberg tables.
  • Exposure to Visualisation Development: Develop visualisations using Power BI.
  • Knowledge of MS SQL Server, SSIS, Visual Studio, and SSDT Projects: Apply knowledge of MS SQL Server, SSIS, Visual Studio, and SSDT projects.
  • Degree or Equivalent Qualification/Experience: Hold a degree or equivalent qualification/experience in computer science, data science, or a related field.
