Job Summary

We are seeking an exceptional candidate to join our Critical Care Directorate as a full-time Consultant in Intensive Care Medicine and General Anaesthesia based at University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, with some cover also provided at the nearby University Hospital Llandough.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our multidisciplinary team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care. As a Consultant in Intensive Care Medicine and General Anaesthesia, you will be responsible for providing expert care to critically ill patients and leading a team of healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing expert care to critically ill patients
  • Leading a team of healthcare professionals
  • Developing and implementing clinical policies and guidelines
  • Participating in clinical audit and quality improvement initiatives
  • Teaching and mentoring junior doctors and medical students

Requirements
  • On GMC Specialist Register for Intensive Care Medicine and Anaesthesia / Specialty Registrar with CCT / CESR (Combined Programme) due within 6 months of interview date
  • Postgraduate ICM qualification FICM, DICM, EDIC or equivalent
  • Postgraduate qualification in Anaesthesia FRCA or equivalent
