Your Role...

As a Lighting Technician, you will collaborate closely with the Lead Electrician to maintain, modify, and install electrical systems throughout our studio. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring that our facilities are upheld to the highest standards while adhering to safe working practices.

Additionally, you will have the opportunity to engage in various maintenance tasks, contributing to the overall functionality of our facilities team.

Key Responsibilities...

  • Execute planned and reactive maintenance tasks as directed by the Maintenance Manager.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including the proper use of personal protective equipment.
  • Operate and maintain mechanical and electrical systems via the Building Management System (BMS).
  • Perform small installation projects and modifications to existing systems.
  • Respond to emergencies promptly, implementing either temporary or permanent solutions to minimize downtime.
  • Adhere to health and safety legislation and best practices during all maintenance activities.
  • Provide out-of-hours electrical support for studio clients.
  • Assist and guide contractors working within the studio environment.
  • Maintain an inventory of critical spare parts and tools assigned to you.

Qualifications & Skills...

  • Fully qualified 'Approved Electrician' with relevant certifications.
  • Knowledge of the 18th Edition Electrical Wiring Regulations.
  • Awareness of Electricity Supply Regulations and the Electricity at Work Act.
  • Valid JIB/ECS card.
  • Experience in inspecting and testing electrical systems is advantageous.
  • NVQ Level 3 in a relevant field.
  • Familiarity with site plant equipment, such as MEWPS (training provided).
  • Training in the operation of trailers and forklifts is preferable but not essential.
  • Understanding of the Building Management System (BMS) is a plus.
  • Strong commitment to health and safety standards.
  • Flexibility to work outside standard hours as needed.
  • Must possess a valid UK driving license.

Work Schedule...

This position requires a commitment to a 40-hour work week on a rotating shift pattern, including evenings and weekends. You will also be expected to respond to emergencies outside of regular working hours.
