About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our team at Dee Set, a world-class organization undergoing a digital transformation. As a key member of our Data Science and Analytics team, you will play a crucial role in driving data integration, modelling, and inference using cutting-edge tools and techniques.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Ingest data from source systems, identify and resolve data quality issues
  2. Design and develop ETL processes to create robust data assets
  3. Design, build, and maintain end-to-end data pipelines and data models to serve analytics solutions
  4. Automate pipelines
  5. Support business implementation and usage of Data Engineering applications and tools
  6. Take ownership of our data lake and warehouse platform
  7. Ensure high-quality code base, reliable data, and user needs
  8. Collect and analyze user requests, estimate required effort
  9. Advocate for quality, ensuring data and code repositories meet high standards
Requirements

We are looking for an outstanding problem solver with an inquisitive mind, good eye for details, and hands-on experience. You will love working with data and documentation. Self-motivation to learn and keep pace with numerous analytics and software tools is essential.

Knowledge, skills, and experience required:

  • Knowledge of processes, tools, and techniques for extracting, joining, cleaning, and shaping data from multiple sources for analysis
  • Ability to create robust data models to drive business insights
  • Collect and translate business requirements into required data structures
  • Implement and operate multiple data structures, troubleshoot complex problems
  • Anticipate underlying problems and limitations in data structures
  • Design and develop data engineering steps to provide necessary data using complex queries and transforms
  • Orchestrate data pipeline steps into logical executable sequences
  • Identify reasonable timescales and data owner input for data transformation exercises
  • Utilize systematic approach to projects and tasks using efficient means to generate consistent and optimum results
  • Optimize compute and storage in data engineering platform
  • Optimize query, design efficient code, perform code reviews, utilize version control and collaborative development
  • Incorporate design, build, test, and defect resolution methodology and operational documentation at the Development stage
Desirable Skills and Competencies
  • Experience building and maintaining a live cloud data lake and data warehouse
  • Star-Schema warehouse design and implementation
  • Experience using Matillion, Snowflake, and Azure ecosystems
  • CI/CD experience
  • Machine learning model deployment experience is a plus
