Job Summary:

Red Recruit Ltd is seeking a skilled Freight Planning Coordinator to join their team in Essex. As a key member of the CEN export planning department, you will be responsible for organizing full load, part load, and groupage transport for Italy, Austria, and Switzerland.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with hauliers to find optimal solutions for cargo combinations, utilizing the company's fleet and the one-way market.
  • Operate within the company's pricing framework, using tariffs when needed and providing customers with SPOT quotes upon request.
  • Negotiate haulage prices on the market, securing the most cost-effective equipment solutions for the company.
  • Ensure timely loading and delivery of customer shipments.
  • Provide a high level of service for all shipments handled.
  • Address operational issues outside standard hours, requiring flexibility in the planning role.
  • Inform CSU or customers directly about any changes or delays to shipments.
  • Create load orders for hauliers.
  • Provide instructions regarding T1 creation.
  • Handle other operational administrative tasks, such as requesting and sending CMRs to customers or checking shipment statuses.

Requirements:

  • Good general knowledge of the road freight industry.
  • Good geographical knowledge of the UK.
  • Efficiency and attention to detail.
  • Administrative abilities (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Financial awareness (revenue, cost, and profit/loss management).
  • Excellent communication skills (colleagues, customers, and hauliers).
