We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Scientist to join our Antibody Engineering team within the Molecular Design and Engineering (MDE) group at GlaxoSmithKline. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for working on the discovery and development of innovative biopharmaceutical medicines, with a focus on antibody engineering and developability profiling.
Key Responsibilities- Antibody Sequence and Structure Analysis: You will analyze antibody sequences and structures to identify potential liabilities and design de-risked variants.
- Strategic Recommendations: You will provide strategic recommendations for molecule engineering, humanization, and de-risking to program teams.
- Innovative Engineering Strategies: You will develop and explore innovative engineering strategies to create evolutionarily plausible variants with strong developability profiles.
- Cloning and Sequencing: You will clone antibodies, bispecifics, and other advanced formats into expression vectors, followed by sequencing and upscaling the generated plasmids.
- Graduate or Postgraduate Degree: You must have a graduate or postgraduate degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or a related discipline.
- Experience in AI and Protein Modeling: You must have experience in applying AI to protein sequence, structure, and experimental data, particularly in the context of drug/biologic design and engineering.
- Protein Modeling and Interpretation: You must have experience in protein/antibody modeling and interpretation of the structure data.
- Molecular Biology and Protein Design: You must have basic skills in molecular biology, protein design and engineering, DNA cloning, preparation, upscaling, and analysis of sequencing results.
- Established Experience in Antibody Discovery: You must have established experience in antibody discovery and/or design, with a broad scientific understanding of the relationship between antibody sequence/structure and function.
- Bispecifics and Advanced Antibody Formats: You must have basic experience or knowledge about bispecifics and other advanced antibody formats.
