Clinical Lead Therapist for Supported Discharge and Discharge to Assess

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Clinical Lead Therapist to join our Discharge to Assess and Supported Discharge Team in South Cumbria. This is a newly created fixed-term contract that will provide clinical leadership and management of the day-to-day delivery of services, including supporting the development of the service, managing issues relating to HR, colleague absence, completing appraisals, probation reports, performance, and compliance with Care Quality Commission Standards.

The successful candidate will work alongside the existing therapy team manager/team lead, providing clinical leadership of the teams alongside some operational and management responsibilities to support the day-to-day running of the service and the operational requirements of supporting leadership in service transformation and improvements.

This role will include responsibility for the clinical leadership and management of the day-to-day delivery of services, including supporting the development of the service, managing issues relating to HR, colleague absence, completing appraisals, probation reports, performance, and compliance with Care Quality Commission Standards.

The post holder will support the training and development of therapy colleagues in the team, working alongside the Team Leader/Manager and with colleagues and key stakeholders to ensure the delivery of a coordinated, multidisciplinary service. This includes planning, delivering, evaluating, and developing the services for which they are responsible.

The successful candidate will be responsible and accountable for providing therapy assessment and treatment to patients with diverse health needs, who may have complex and/or chronic conditions, in a variety of community settings.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing clinical leadership and management of the day-to-day delivery of services
  • Supporting the development of the service, managing issues relating to HR, colleague absence, completing appraisals, probation reports, performance, and compliance with Care Quality Commission Standards
  • Working alongside the Team Leader/Manager and with colleagues and key stakeholders to ensure the delivery of a coordinated, multidisciplinary service
  • Providing therapy assessment and treatment to patients with diverse health needs, who may have complex and/or chronic conditions, in a variety of community settings
  • Monitoring and analysing performance data against agreed targets for the team

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in physiotherapy or occupational therapy, with experience in clinical leadership and management. They will be able to demonstrate a commitment to clinical leadership, innovation, and integrated working, and be committed to following best practice to ensure patient-centred care.

The successful candidate will be a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy or Royal College of Occupational Therapists, and have a clear understanding of the role of Clinical Lead Therapist in the approach of their professional duties in a team.
