Contract Length: 12 Months Fixed Term
We are seeking a committed Orthogeriatric Locum Consultant to enhance our service at Medway NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be instrumental in delivering exceptional care to orthopedic patients, with a focus on managing the fractured femur pathway, peri-prosthetic fractures, and other orthopedic challenges. As a vital member of our proficient team, you will be responsible for leading perioperative medical management, supervising junior medical staff, and actively engaging in clinical meetings and audits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing direct medical care for patients on the fractured femur pathway and those with peri-prosthetic fractures
- Enhancing pre-operative protocols and coordinating patient rehabilitation
- Overseeing junior doctors and contributing to their educational development
- Engaging in trauma meetings, handover discussions, and clinical governance initiatives
- Upholding high standards of clinical practice and patient care
Qualifications:
Essential:
- Full GMC Registration with Licence to Practice
- MBBS or Equivalent
- Speciality Certificate Exam in Geriatrics (RCP)
- Qualifications as an educational supervisor from RCP
- Post-graduate membership with experience in geriatrics and orthogeriatrics
