About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our team at NELFT North East London Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing senior medical support and direct input on clinical cases, as well as providing guidance and supervision to junior colleagues.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in child and adolescent mental health, with a minimum of 4 years of full-time postgraduate training and at least 2 years in a specialty training programme in a relevant specialty. You will also have a good knowledge of the biological, psychological, and social determinants of mental health disorders and evidence-based management interventions.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and innovative environment, where you will have the chance to develop your skills and expertise in child and adolescent mental health. You will be working closely with a full-time CAMHS LD Consultant Psychiatrist within the service, and will have the opportunity to develop links with local acute trusts A&E departments and inpatient wards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide senior medical support to the team and direct input on clinical cases
  • Provide guidance and supervision to junior colleagues
  • Work directly with children and young people and their families, and liaise as appropriate with other external CAMHS mental health providers and acute hospitals
  • Develop links with local acute trusts A&E departments and inpatient wards
  • Offer clinical supervision and teaching to core trainees on placement
  • Supervise junior colleagues and liaise with other health and social professionals and agencies
