The Clinical Director of Public Health will play a key role in driving the strategic direction of the Community and Children's Directorate at Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting opportunity for a senior leader to join our team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality public health services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide strategic direction for the development of clinical services and ensure the delivery of high-quality patient pathways across the Trust.
- Provide specialist public health advice to the Trust and Community and Children's Boards and staff, and identify the appropriate public health support required locally and prioritise actions accordingly.
- Lead the directorate to ensure all contacts in the 0-19 service maximise health improvement opportunities and reduce inequalities in health outcomes.
- Oversee a comprehensive clinical governance programme, including quality improvement, regular reviews of practice and outcomes, and adherence to local and national advice, guidelines, recommendations, audits, and standards.
- Ensure that risk is effectively managed within the Directorate, using appropriate risk assessments and that appropriate steps are taken to mitigate these risks.
- Represent the Directorate at Trust level and with external agencies.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified public health specialist with a degree in a relevant subject and relevant professional registration. They will have a minimum of 2 years' experience as a Senior Clinician and recent experience of working in a project management or leadership role. They will also have significant local contribution to the modernisation of services and improvement, and awareness, knowledge and understanding of the NHS and local modernisation agenda.
