About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated PhD student to join our team at the National Physical Laboratory (NPL) to explore the scalability of atomic quantum hardware. The successful candidate will work closely with experimental teams at NPL and Strathclyde to overcome barriers to achieving high fidelity coherent control and entanglement using trapped ions and neutral atoms.

About You

To be eligible for this position, you should have a First degree (2:1 minimum) in physics or a physics-based subject. Demonstrated laboratory and problem-solving skills gained through undergraduate project work are highly desirable. UK nationality is required for funding eligibility.
