The Greater Game is a mission-driven grassroots initiative that harnesses the influence of football to enhance the health and well-being of youth across the country, motivating them to take at least one healthier action each week.

Research by The FA indicates that nearly one-third (31%) of young individuals lack motivation to exercise, and over half (52%) have experienced mental health challenges in the past year.

This is the reason behind The Greater Game, targeting ages 12-16 and their support networks (parents, guardians, coaches, educators, local communities, etc.). This is a long-term endeavor, and we believe that leveraging the power and reach of football, along with collaboration with both existing and new partners, can drive meaningful change.

In this role, you will lead the marketing and content execution for The Greater Game, contributing to essential program objectives, including:
Enhancing visibility and awareness of the initiative. Engaging and educating coaches to integrate the program into grassroots coaching practices. Connecting with young people through our channels to promote lasting behavioral change. Meeting the commercial needs of our program partners.Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary marketing contact for the initiative.
  • Design and execute the marketing and content strategy, ensuring seamless integration across communications, campaigns, grassroots, and educational teams.
  • Create a continuous content strategy for a new YouTube channel dedicated to the initiative, including ideation and production of all content in collaboration with our content agency.
  • Plan and implement paid media campaigns to enhance reach and engagement with targeted content.
  • Assist the grassroots team in organizing an annual Greater Game conference focused on attendee recruitment.
  • Work with the CRM team to create automated email content for program facilitators.
  • Maximize engagement within key stakeholder groups such as the CFA network.
  • Support the campaigns team during key activation moments and enhance owned channel engagement.
  • Act as the brand steward for the initiative, developing all relevant creative materials with our creative agency.
  • Provide reporting, measurement, and success tracking across marketing channels.
  • Opportunity to assist and lead marketing efforts for future purpose-driven grassroots initiatives introduced by the organization.
  • Support the FA's initiatives on equality, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Perform additional tasks as necessary to align with the FA Group's evolving priorities.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures to maintain the highest health standards, safety, and well-being.

This position is offered on a fixed-term contract basis.
