Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Yard Operative to join our team at Petrie Recruitment Limited. As a Yard Operative, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient loading and unloading of materials, as well as maintaining the yard and carrying out all activities required in this area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Material Handling: Ensure finished materials are safely loaded onto vehicles for onward shipment to customers.
  • Yard Maintenance: Maintain the yard and carrying out all activities required in this area, including cleaning and house-keeping.
  • Heavy Plant Machinery Operation: Use of mobile plant including FLT's, Telehandler, Excavator, Overhead crane (OHC) etc.
  • Plant Machinery Maintenance: Ensure SOPs are adhered to for plant machinery.

Requirements:

  • Heavy Plant Machinery Experience: Heavy plant machinery experience (FLT, Telehandler, Excavator, Overhead crane)
  • Material Handling Skills: Material handling experience
  • Teamwork and Communication: Ability to work alone and within a team
  • Warehouse and Yard Experience: Warehouse / Yard experience
  • Physical Demands: Ability to walk in all weathers
