About the Role

  • Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 Per annum + Benefits
  • Location: Dorchester based R&D centre, 5 days a week on-site

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in and review mechanical design solutions developed by the Mechanical Engineering department to ensure that delivered systems meet customers' needs and expectations.
  • Provide technical guidance and direction to technical team members throughout all phases of the product development process to ensure that all functional and non-functional performance requirements are met and that design solutions are robust and cost-effective.

Requirements

  • 10+ years in Electro-mechanical engineering
  • Strong knowledge of CAD and other related software aided design tools
  • Experience with 2D and 3D optical and laser-based vision systems
  • Experience with Robots and robot control systems (FANUC & KUKA preferable)
  • Previous experience delivering statistical analysis of experimental, test, and quality data
  • Proven ability to conceive and develop innovative solutions
  • A Electro-Mechanical, Mechatronic Engineering Degree

Desirable Skills

  • Experience in the Automotive or aerospace sectors
  • Prior experience with electro-mechanical power, torque & efficiency calculations
  • Experience managing Pneumatic actuation and controls
  • A track record of new Product Introduction (NPI) methods and practices
  • Bills of Material Structure & Creation
