Weighbridge Operator

As a Weighbridge Operator at Smiths, you will be responsible for managing all vehicles entering and exiting our Tewkesbury depot, ensuring accurate weighing and data recording. You will also be responsible for ensuring all vehicles have the correct fully completed paperwork, recording and calculating inputs and outputs, and communicating with yard and transfer shed personnel via radio.
Additionally, you will be responsible for producing weighbridge tickets, completing waste transfer notes, and being aware of gross/tare/nett weights of vehicles to ensure they leave at their legal weight limit. You will also take payments for disposal/collections as required and perform general site administration duties, including dealing with customer enquiries via phone and email.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have the ability to prioritise workloads and work to deadlines, as well as the ability to work Saturday mornings on a rota basis if required. You will also need to have good IT skills, including Microsoft Word & Excel, and excellent communication skills and telephone manner.
You will also need to be able to work on your own initiative with little supervision, liaise with drivers coming onto site in a professional manner, and have a full, UK driving licence. Great attention to accuracy and detail is also essential.
