Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Automotive Workshop Operations Manager to join our team at ADM UK Ltd. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the workshop operation and maintaining the vehicle fleet operated by the company, based on the standards set by the Fleet Engineer and the Department of Transport.
Key Responsibilities:
- Liaise with the distribution manager to achieve planned maintenance/servicing of company-operated vehicles, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
- Organize the workshop throughput and control work levels, ensuring the most economical use of manpower and facility resources, and implementing efficient workflows to minimize downtime.
- Ensure that all vehicles are maintained to the highest standards, receiving advice from the Fleet Engineer on legislative changes that may affect existing standards, and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Organize MOT preparation and bookings, liaising with distribution for the release of the vehicle in time for any reorganization required, and ensuring timely completion of maintenance tasks.
- Ensure that all maintenance is carried out in the most economical manner, particularly in areas where decisions in a repair or replace situation occur, and implementing cost-saving initiatives to reduce waste and optimize resources.
- Organize outside repair services such as warranty, specialist repairs, tyre servicing, and other items in consultation with the Fleet Engineer, and ensuring that all external vendors meet company standards.
- Be responsible for ensuring all workshop equipment is maintained in safe working condition as required by legislation, and implementing regular maintenance schedules to prevent equipment failure.
Requirements:
- Familiarity with common Microsoft Applications, including [insert specific applications].
- LGV licence (Preferred).
- Knowledge of bulk tanker pressure systems, and experience in maintaining and repairing complex vehicle systems.
- GCSE educated, with grade C or above in mathematics and English or equivalent, and a City & Guilds in Motor Vehicle Engineering or recognized equivalent qualification.
- Demonstrable vehicle workshop experience, with a proven track record of maintaining high standards and ensuring efficient workflows.
